Engineering experience grounded in real products.

I am an iOS software engineer and independent product builder with experience taking applications through the complete product lifecycle—from early concept and UX design to development, testing, subscriptions, analytics, and App Store release.

Before moving into product development, I worked professionally as a data analyst using SQL, Python, and R. That background helps me approach software with a strong understanding of data, user behaviour, and measurable outcomes.

Word Vault

A subscription-based vocabulary application designed to help readers save, practise, and remember new words.

  • Built and launched the application independently, reaching #24 in the UK Reference App Store category and a 4.5 App Store rating.
  • Managed the full product lifecycle, including development, UX design, testing, App Store release, subscriptions, and analytics.
  • Designed and developed vocabulary-retention features, including saved words, practice sessions, and spaced repetition systems, supported by a bespoke dictionary dataset created by processing over 1 million Wiktionary definitions using Python.
  • Utilised Apple’s Share & Siri Extension to make retrieving and saving definitions easier for users.
  • Integrated subscriptions, analytics, backend services, and conversion-focused onboarding.

Blocked

A native iOS Screen Time application focused on simple, restrictive, and reliable app blocking.

  • Designed and developed core features including Block Now, Timed Sessions, Recurring Routines, custom App Groups to block, and different Restriction Modes.
  • Designed scheduling logic for overnight routines, overlapping schedules, and multiple simultaneous blocking sources.
  • Built shared state and configuration flows between the main app and Screen Time extensions using App Groups.
  • Owned the product strategy, UX design, architecture, and implementation.

Data Analyst

Insurance Data analyst

Professional experience using data to answer business questions, identify trends, and support decision-making.

  • Developed analytical tools in Python to perform custom segmentation and asses the validity of analytical trends to enable price changes that resulted in over a projected 2% profit benefit.
  • Used Python and R for data cleaning, analysis, automation, and statistical work.
  • Manipulated large data sets using SQL in Snowflake to create bespoke datasets for analysis.
  • Assisted and collaborated with colleagues in completing projects. Mentored junior colleagues in insurance and programming skills.
